Sexy Wednesday

     Sexy Wednesday this week is a snippet from Sweet Surrender by Maya Banks. This is the first book in the Sweet series and it's totally made of amazing.
     Each book has some aspect of BDSM in it, some more than most. This one is more sweet and sensual, but that doesn't take away from Gray in any way. He's definitely dom.
     So without further ado...here's the scene I chose:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Friday seemed a light-year away. She was nervous as hell at the idea of waltzing into some fetish club by herself, but another part of her was proud of the fact that she’d ventured so far out of her comfort zone.
     Strong. Confident. If she wanted those qualities in a man, then maybe it was time she started exhibiting them herself. Like attracted like, didn’t it?
     “I’d give up beer for a week to know what’s going on inside your head right now.”
     She blinked and refocused and saw that Gray was staring at her. “Oh, sorry. Was just thinking.”
     He chuckled. “Like I said, I’d love to know about what.”
     She wouldn’t blush. Would. Not. Blush. She could feel herself losing the battle as the wave of heat crept up her neck. Damn it.
     He hooted with laughter and picked up a napkin to wipe his mouth. “That blush just gave you away, darlin’.”
     She groaned. “It’s not polite to keep pointing out my faults.”
     He leaned forward and tipped her chin up with his finger. “Not a fault at all. I find it sexy as hell.”
     Goose bumps trickled down her spine, back up again and over her shoulders. Her nipples tightened, and the muscles in her pussy constricted.
     A dot of ketchup rested in the corner of his mouth, and it gave her an excuse to touch him. God, she wanted to touch him. She raised a finger and gently wiped the ketchup away. When she would have withdrawn her hand to wipe it on a napkin, he captured her finger then raised it to his mouth.
     His lips closed hot over the tip, then his tongue swirled over the skin, licking away the ketchup. The action sent a shock wave through her system. She sat, stunned at her reaction.
     Slowly he pulled her hand away, sliding his tongue along her finger until it left his mouth. When he released her, she let her hand fall to her lap, trying to disguise the shaking.
     “I should go,” she said, saying the first thing that popped into her mind. That was a lie. She didn’t want to go but didn’t know what to say or how to react to the blatant sensuality between them.
     “Why don’t I follow you back?” he offered. “I’m headed home too. I’ll see you to your door.”
     “O-okay.” She sucked in several steadying breaths so her voice didn’t waver so damn much. After collecting her purse, she dug for her cash and started to flip a few bills onto the countertop.
     Gray held out a hand and shoved her money back to her. “I got it.”
     She slowly pulled the money back and stuck it back in her purse. “Thanks.”
     She waited as he paid their tabs, and then he turned around to face her. “Shall we?” he asked, gesturing toward the exit.
Sexy Wednesday
    I've decided to start a weekly Wednesday meme called Sexy Wednesday. In other words this is something sexy for Hump day. It could be a scene, man candy, etc....stick around to see what's in store.
THIS week...
    I've chosen a scene from Be with Me by Maya Banks. I love this book dearly and even though this scene isn't smut hot, it's a tease and adorable. If you haven't read this...you should. Enjoy!
His gaze met hers again as he kissed her pinky. “Why don’t you crawl up and get comfortable, and I’ll find us a loud, obnoxious movie. I’m looking forward to spending the time with you, and I’d rather not waste it analyzing my sanity or lack thereof.”
Call her nuts, or crazy, or maybe as insane as he was, but she leaned forward and kissed him. Maybe she needed to prove to herself that she wasn’t running, or maybe she just wanted to make the move for once. Whatever the case, she found her lips pressed to his, inhaling his sexy male scent.
He stilled against her, and then she heard his sharp intake of breath. She slid her hand over his chest and up the column of his neck. His goatee brushed against her chin, prickling, eliciting a shiver from her.
His lips were warm and pliant against hers. Soft, but not too soft. A hint of firmness.
She sank her teeth into his bottom lip, and he groaned.
Slowly, she pulled away. Her breath came erratically. His eyes were half-lidded as he stared at her, desire clouding the blue eyes, darkening them to midnight.
As if he sensed the moment was over, he turned away and got off the bed. He walked to the TV and knelt to dig in the cabinet where the movies were stored.
Regina crawled up and settled among his pillows. She sucked in several steadying breaths. Wild. Hungry. Those were words that came to mind after kissing Sawyer. She knew he wasn’t the type for frilly lovemaking. She knew it long before that night a year ago.
He wasn’t the soft, sensitive kind who could murmur just the right words and take all night to make love to a woman. He liked it hard, edgy, the rock-your-world kind of sex. And yet, when he touched her, she still felt . . . cherished.
There was an edge of steel to him, like having sex with him would be akin to chasing a storm. He’d held back the one time they’d made love. She knew it.
Part of her wanted to tap that wildness. The other part of her was scared shitless.
It was also why she was convinced that this thing . . . what they wanted . . . would never work. How could it when each of them held back, reserved that part of himself that made him uniquely him?
The mattress dipped as Sawyer eased onto the bed beside her. He pointed the remote at the television then turned back to her.
“You ready?”
She nodded, and he patted the pillow he was resting on. She moved over, and he raised his arm so she could nestle in the crook of his shoulder.
“Put that hand on my chest so it doesn’t get bumped or smushed,” he said.
She smiled and settled her brace across his body. His arm tightened around her, and his fingers brushed up and down her arm from her shoulder to her elbow.
“This is nice,” he murmured. “Been a long time since we did this.”
Yeah, it had. And she was to blame. She’d missed it too, though.
Despite the action and noise of the movie, she settled into a comfortable haze. Sawyer’s body heat seeped into her and lulled her closer to sleep.
“Sawyer, for God’s sake, turn the damn TV down. You’re going to wake—”
Regina turned to see Cam standing in the doorway in just his shorts. His hair hung to his shoulders with just enough muss to make him look damn sexy.
“You were saying?” Sawyer said dryly.
Cam walked into the bedroom. “Sorry. Didn’t know you were up, Reggie. I could hear the TV all the way in my bedroom, and I worried it would wake you.”
She smiled. “I couldn’t sleep, and Sawyer was the only one up.”
“You could have wakened me. I wouldn’t have minded.” He turned his attention to the TV. “What are you guys watching?”
Rush Hour,” Sawyer replied.
Regina lifted her hand off of Sawyer’s chest and carefully patted the space beside her. “Want to watch?”
Cam climbed onto the bed and lay down beside Regina, his shoulder touching her back as she turned toward Sawyer once more.
